The Court received and approved the resignation effective March 31, 1954, of L. P. Antaler,
Assistant County Agricultural Agent, submitted in order that he might accept a similar position in
Jia Wells County at Alice, Texas, effective April 1, 1954. Members of the Court stated their personal

appreciation of the work Mr. Ameler had performed in Brasov County and authorised the County Judge to

express their sentiments to him in an appropriate letter.

as pending business at the ne=t regular session of the Court, by the affirmative votes of Cammiselonere
Nolan and Conrad and County Judge Ware with Commissioners Porterfield and Burlin voting no.

nJ A regular meeting of the Comlesionem' Court of Brazos County, Tuns, was hold in this office
of the County Judge beginning at 1Os00 a.a,, Monday, 4mri1 12, 1954, with the following meubera presents,

A. B. Syptak, County Clerk.
Professor A. R. Owens, a teacher in the A&M Consolidated Junior High School, appeared before
the Court with apprmdaatsly eighty members of the seventh grade Civics class of his school and requested
permission to observe the session of the Court as visitors. This permission was grated and Professor
a Owens was thanked for their interest in the operation of the County Government. It was found, however,
that quarters in the courthouse were inadequate for a meeting with that many visitors. Thereupon the i1
r Court owed on to the north lawn of the courthouse and the session was hold there. ;.t
The Court received, approved and ordered paid from the Right-of Way Fund accent for
172.42 submitted by the Haveron Plumbing Company of Bryan for laying of water line across the State
FM Highway No. 60 an the approach to the Brazos River bridge now under construction. This water line is
situated on property owned by Joe Varisco and was wrecked by the contractor in excavating for the highway k
approach to the new river bridge.
Messrs. George Cargill and W. W. Humphries appeared before the Court and requested the county
to provide a stock water tank on,land belonging to Mr. Cargill, which had been out off by the proposed
extension of State Farm-to-Market Highway No. 3.174 now under construction and which had destroyed an
r existing stock water tank. This matter had been carried over from the last session of the Court and
•U was pending business for this meeting. After discussion and upon another motion adopted without opposi-
tion the Court voted to allow Mr. Cargill 1450.00 for the construction of a new water tank on his property
" and ordered this payment to be made from the Right-of-War Fund.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court voted to pay Mr. W. B. Lewis of
J Edge, Taxes 1320.00 from the Right-of-Way Fund, be19,
ing payment at 1200.00 per sore for 3-2/10 acres of
land required as right-of-way for Farr-to4farket Highway No. 2037 which is the proposed improvement of the

Edge Cutoff County Road.
The Court received a delegation composed of 8. W. Lawless, Chairmen; Daniel Russell and
lire. W. A. Varval, representing Brazos County Council of Social Agencies, recomending that the
Commissioners$ Court establish a Probation Department or at least employ a probation officer. In addition
