On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court voted to
pay all Dille which
have been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
Special Meeting, Tuesday, January 19, 1954.
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the office
` of the County Judge in the courthouse, beginning at 3130 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 1954, with the

Newton Burlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4.
County Auditor F. J. Vitopil laid before the Court bids for materials for construction of
additional shade at the county shops in order to house the county-owned hard-surthoing and black►
topping road,equipment. The bide were upon uniform lists by firms and in the following amounts)
Howell Lumber Company of Bryan, Texas. . . . . . . .1332.62
" Hall Brothers Lumber Company of Bryan, ?arse . . . . . . 338.25
Varlsco Lumber Company " • . . . . 353.18
Woodson Lumber Company. . . . . . . . 354.06
G. S. Parker Lumber Company . . . . . . . . . . 360.88.
It having been found and declared by the Court that the bid of $332.62 submitted by the
Howell Lumber Company of Bryan, Texas, was the loxest and beet bid for the materials enumerated,

an motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to accept such bid and to buy
materials from the said firm at the prices submitted.
Commissioner Porterfield moved that hereafter all county-ride activities such as fencing

of right-of-+wqy, construction work at county shops, sto., be paid only after approval by the county ;
shop foreman and the whole Commissioners' Court in a
special or regular session. Notion adopted
by the affirmative votes of Commissioners Burlin and Porterfield and County Judge Ware with Cam-
missioner Conrad dissenting.
r After the members of the Court discussed other matters of mutual interest, the Court
adjourned.
