Special Meeting, November 3, 1953.
A special meeting of the Commissionevel Court of Brazos County, Texas, was held in the office
• of the County Judge in the Courthouse beginning at 9s00 a.m., Tuesday, November 3, 1953, with the
following members presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
~I Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Preoinct No. 1;
Reuben F. Conrad, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2;
® Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No. 3;
Newton Berlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; and
~i A. B. Syptak, County Clerk.
O With reference to the proposed construction of the new courthouse-fail for Brazos County, on
o emotion duly seconded and unanimously adopted after detailed discussion, the Court voted to employ as
architects for this project the firm of Caudill, Rowlett, Scott A Associates, Architects, of Bryan,
Texas, with request that they associate with themselves for this project the other local practicing
It
architects.
After full and detailed consideration of all proposals and propositions submitted, an motion
duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court voted to accept the bid of Rancher, Pierce A Company,
Milam Building, San Antonio 5, Texas, to handle all proceedings and to act as fiscal agent for the
county in oonnection with the proposal for the issuance of $800,000.00 in bands to cover the cost of
eonstructl" of the new courthouse-fail; the said company having agreed to perform all of the '04"88027
services for the am of $1,552.00 gash to,be paid if and when the bonds are finallj issued, sold and

delivered.

A regular meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Teams, was held in the office
a of the County Judge in the Courthouse beginning at 10000 a.m., Monday, November 9, 1953, with the fol- ;
lowing members presents
A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding;
Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner of Precinct No. 1;
Reuben F. Conrad, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2;
• Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner of Precinct No. 3;

Newton Berlin, Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; and
A. B. Syptak, County Clerk.
Messrs. Joe N. Barron and J. M. (Ban) Daniel appeared before the Court on behalf of a county-
wide movement which is seeking to locate and secure adequate sources of longtime water supply for the
entire county and its various communities, including the Cities of Bryan and College Station as well
• as the A&M College of Texas. These gentlemen stated that a county-wide committee of seven was being
formed, one representative of each of the City,of Bryan, the City of College Station, the And( College
of -Texas, the Bryan Chamber of Commerce, the College Station Chamber of Commerce, the Countyrat-Large
and the Brasoe County Commissioners Court. After discussion of ttw matter with. Members of the Court
and on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted (with County Judge Ware abstaining), the Court
voted to designate County Judge A. S. Wane as item
representative on the proposed committee as "eve'.
