This is an imported machine but will be serviced in Bryans where we have sold 26 machines in eight months. The principal purpose of this meeting was to hold public hearing upon tbe•Brssoo County budget proposed for the year 1954, as submitted. to the Court by County Judge Ware on July 30, 1953, and ' according to published notices of heating thereon for this date and wddah notices have heretofore been published for three consecutive reeks in the Bryan Daily Sagle. The following is the transmittal of the proposed budgets ,Bryan, Tuns, July 30, 1953• !i ntii The Honorable Commissioners Court, of Brazos County, Texas, at Bryan, Texas. Gentlemens As your budget officer and in accordance with the regairmants of the law (Article 689-a, Sections 9 to 12, Inclusive, Revised-Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended)s there Is submitted herewith the proposed budget of Brazos County for ' the fiscal (calendar) year of 1954, including all anticipated receipts and proposed expenditures. The budget herewith enl~aitted contains all of the necessary schedules and tabulations in proper detail on the following pages. The statutes require that the county budget be submitted during the month of July and that public hearings thereon be held subsequent to August 15, after which it shall be finally approved and adopted by the Commissioners Court and then strictly adhered to throughout the following fiscal year. TOTALS AND CQVARISONS ({ITN PRIOR YEARS: This budget carries a gross total of $542,600.00 under the expenditures column for the coming year. Of this sump however, a total of $139,000.00 is to be bold in reserve, for the construction of the new proposed Brazos County Courthouse- Jall, as will be indicated in the schedule for Permanent Improvements. Deducting the $139,000.00 from the gross total of 5542,600.00 would indicate actual proposed expenditures of $403,600.00 which is in reality only $7,925.36'above the $395,670.64 expended during 1952. In this connection it will be remembered that for the year 19500 total expenditures were 9404,757.17, including the proceeds of Road Machinery -and Equipment Warrants in the amount,of '$40,660.00.
