After discussion of the foregoing proposition and bid, it was 1bund that it would be the
beet 'and most advAritageous offer available to' the County. Whereupon, at the request of Commissioner
Burlin, and on motion made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court accepted the foregoing
proposition and purchased from the Benson Tractor Company the following described item of road macAin-
err for allocation to Precinct No. 4, of which Mr. Newton Burlin is the Commissioners
"One Model D. Allis-Chalmers Tractor Grader, Tandem Drive
with 34.7 Brake H.P. gasoline engine and with standard
equipment including 6 volt electric generator, battery,
electric starter, 101 x 5/8" Mold Board, Hydraulic con-
trols for Mold Board Lift'and with extra equipme:t in-
eluding 7:50 x 20 Front Tires substituted for standard,
and Cab. Approximate weight 9500 lbs.
Delivered any point in Brazos County $4798.13."
It was understood and agreed that $2,000.00 of the foregoing purchase price of $4,798.13 will be paid
from the Road Machinery and Equipment Fund and that the balance of $2,798.13 thereof will be paid
from the allocation to Precinct No. 4 of its pro-rata part of the 1953 Budget Item fbr Road Machinery
and Equipment.
The Court received and considered the following proposal submitted by the Cade Motor
Company of Bryan, Texas:
"New 1952 FORD F-1 PICKUP (1/2 ton)
5650 - 16 6 ply tires 8 cyl.
$1800.00 (Not inc. Fed. Tax)
00
900.00 Net Diff."
After discussion, and upon the recommendation of Mr. Raymond A. Nolan, on motion duly
seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court found that the foregoing proposal submitted by the Cade
Motor Company was the best and most advantageous available to the County, and voted to purchase from
the Cade Motor Company the following item for allocation to Precinct No. 1:
"One New 1952 FORD F-1, 8-Cylinder Pickup Truck,
one-half ton capacity, complete and fully
equipped with five 6.50 x 16 six-ply tires,
delivered at Bryan, Texas, for . . . . . . . . $1,800.00
"Leas trade-in allowance to County for
One 1950 Model Used Dodge Pickup Truck,
Motor No. TI 7296064, covered by
Texas Certificate of Title No. 8172381. 900.00-
"Balance, and net difference, to be paid
in cash, $ 900.00
On a motion duly seconded and unanimously carried, the Court voted to fix the Christmas
and New Year's Holidays as follows:
From noon of Wednesday, December'24 through Saturday, December 27 for the Christmas
period, and the one day of Thursday, January 1, 1953,'fbr New Year.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.'
