Bunting, Brazos County School Superintendent, covering the school fiacal year ending August 31, 1952. Overall cash balance in all funds has increased from $968.28 on August 31, 19517 to $10,480.96 on August 31, 1952, or an increase of $9,512.68. r, h • ~ i o 1 E f' C . During the year, this deficit was wiped out and ended the year with a cash balance of $7,609.17. eon August 31, 1951, the Local Maintenance Fund of school y +e. „ district No. 10 had a deficit of $3,715.59. Dili the this deficit was also wiped out and the district ended thear, „ year with a'caeh balance of $1, 195.56. • w "On August 31, 1951, the Transportation Fund had a deficit of $1,831.69. During the year, this deficit was also completely wiped out and ended the year with a cash balance of $544.63. "The bonded'debt of school dLatrict No. 10 was reduced $4,200.00 during the year by payment of this amount and the y, s •i:. , , i3 + t + r - present banded debt of this district is now $49,600.00, r "During the year $6,000.00 of bus warrants were paid off, „ leaving a balance of $12,000.00 still to be paid. The original amount of bus warrants issued was $30,000.00- OV iy "It is my opinion that the Bmzos County school system has never been in better shape financially than at present, due " principally to increased state appropriations and an economical and business-like administration. "The books and records in the office are exceptionally well and y neatly kept and are in excellent shape. ' Mrs. Ben Powers of Rcute.2. Box 36, Bryan, appeared before the Court and urgently requested the County to provide a culvert and entrance-way into her property lying north of the City of Bryan on State Highway No. 6, webers she has recently built a trailer parkway and rock house. In view of the fact that this location is within Precinct No. 4, the County Judge directed the ingldry to Commissioner Burlin. Commissioner Burlin stated that he had long a ga provided Hrs. Powers with one 'fr adequate entrance to her property and that she could reach the new improvement she has constructed N .;a by traveling inside her own property and parallel with the highway. He stated that it was his 7 policy and that of the County to provide business or commercial entrances only at the expense of the it taxpayersj.that he was perfectly willing to provide lire. Powers with an additional entrance into her `a property it she would pay the actual cost of its construction. County Clerk A.B. Syptak laid before the Court the following four bids fbr a new thirty- b six drawer docket file which is now being required fbr additional fib ing space In the office of the e " County Clark. The bids were for one new olive green steel docket file with thirty-six drawers complete,delivered at Bryan: 1. The E. L. Stock Company, Austin, Texas . . . . $219.19 1 r 2. Bennett Printing Company,'Dallas, Texas . . . . . . . . 240.95 From the foregoing bids it was found and declared by the Court that the bid of $219.19 F submitted by the E. L. Steak Company of Austin, Texas, was the lowest and beat bid available and • ' i that it would be to the best interest of Brazos County to accept it. Thereupon, a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted by which the Court voted to accept the said bid of $219.19 submitted by the E. L. Stook Company as the lowest and best and authorized the County Clerk to place the order accordingly. y 'Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the Court approved and ratified the sale ^'~4f to H. The purpose of this session was to name the members,of a Citizens' Advisory Committee to work ' with the Court in connection with the proposal for the construction of a new Courthouse-Jail for Brazoe ter`' County.
