On motion dully seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to fix and levy the total
county-wide tax rate for Brazos County, Texas, for the tax year beginning October 1, 1952, at eighty
(800) cents per $100.00 of valuation of property within the County, according to the following schedule:

Came on to be considered the matter of Brazos County allowing discounts on ad valorem taxes
for the tax year beginning October 1, 1952, which might be paid in advance, as authorized by Article
7255b, Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, as amended by Acts of the Forty-Sixth Legislature, 1939, Page
654, Paragraph lj and it being the opinion of all members of the Court that tax relief is more equitable
' and uniform when given in the form of reduction in rate, which has been the practice of this Court when-
ever possible, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted that the provision of

on county taxes.
There being no further business, the Court adjourned. ,

oriesser, appeared before the Court and discussed the matter of the problem of rural fires with a view'
to securing the financial cooperation and assistance of the County in meeting this continued problems
After extended and detailed discussion of the matter and acting upon a suggestion made by Mr. Thomas=,
on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to reimburse the City of Bryan in con-
nection with fire calls made outside the corporate limits of the City, at the discretion of the Fire
Chief or other officer is charge, upon the basis of eight canto (8`) cents per mile when the Chief's car
Is used, and of Five and NoA00 ($5.00) Dollars per mile when a fire truck is sent an a calll,and plus one
and 5OA00 ($1.50) Dollars per ban-hour for fire= actually engaged.
Sheriff J. W. Hamilton appeared before the Court and reported the jail garage in poor condition
and in serious need of repair or rebuilding. Whereupon motion was duly made, seconded and unanimously
adopted, by which the Court voted to authorize the Sheriff to secure bids for the rebuilding, recon-
struction or repair of the fail garage, and submit them to the Court.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to authorize County Clerk A. L
Syptak to purchase a new electrically operated typewriter of his selection, for official use in his office,
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to allow the various county
officers reimbursement of actual expenses incurred in order to attend the annual convention of their
respective statewide organisations.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to

Whereupon the Court adjourned.
