On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to accept the resignation of Mr.

t Terrace Subdivision to the City of Bryan, as requested by Mr. J. C. Culpepper in his personal contact 'with

members of the Courts After some discussion of the matter, motion was made, duly seconded and unanimoualy „
adopted, by which the Court took the request under advisement with the view to giving the matter further

'properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.

After a detailed discussion and consideration of the prevalence of the lobo or timber wolf

in the Kurten area with the possibility of the spreading of this predatory animal to other portions of
the County, Commissioner Conrad moved the adoption of the following resolution:

That from and after this date Brazos County, Texas, pay from its General Fund a bounty of
twenty dollars ($20.00) each for all lobo or timber wolvds (Canis lupus) killed within the borders of
~li~azos County, Texas, with payment to be authorized by the County Judge upon a written statement signed

by the party killing the animal or animals and with the written certificate of approval thereon by the

Deputy State Game Warden currently assigned to Brazos County.

affirmative votes of Commissioners Conrad and Nolan and County Judge Ware, with Commissioner Burlin

19520 at the Courthouse in Bryan, Texas, in a special meeting, in accordance with formal notices of

public hearing upon the proposed budget for Brazos County for the year 1953, with the following

members present:

The principal purpose of this meeting was to hold public hearing upon the Brazos County

budget proposed for the year 1953, as submitted to the Court by the County Judge on July 31, 1952, and
according to notices of hearing thereon fixed by the Court on that date and which notices have hereto-
®
fore been published for three consecutive weeks in both the Bryan Daily Eagle and the Bryan Daily News.

After full and complete discussion of the proposed budget in detail, item by item, and fol-
lowing explanations by the County Judge and the Commissioners, and after all citizens present had been
heard as fully'as they desired to speak, a motion was made by Commissioner Porterfield that the salary
of the County Auditor, shown in the schedule of the General Fund on Page 11 of the budget, be reduced"

from $4,500.00 to $3,600.00 per annum. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Burlin and adopted,by

the affirmative votes'of the four Commissioners; with County Judge Ware voting No.,
After ltiather discussion of various salary items in the budget, it was the feeling of the

members of the Court that certain adjustments should be made in these items at the January, 1953,
meeting of the Court when salaries for the calendar year are to be fixed by the Court.

Thereupon motion was made by Commiseloner,Hurlin,and seconded by Commissioner Nolan and
adopted by the unanimous vote of the Court, by which the proposed budget as amended was approved and .
