Home My WebLink About1952-03-31-0900AM-Speciala~ 118 NOTICE OF CALL Notice is hereby given to the holder or holders of bonds of Brazos County, Texas, that Brazos County has exercised the option retained in the next-to-last paragraph of each of the said bonds to call for payment and redeem the fbllwing described outstanding securitiest :1.2,000.00 in Brazos County Road and Bridge Refunding Bonds, Series of 1944, dated • May 1, 1944, Numbered 51 to 62, both numbers inclusive, in denominations o[-=1,000.00 each, bearing interest from date at the rate of two per cent per annum, the first six of said bonds maturing on May 1, 1953, and the last six of said bonds maturing on May 1, 1954, the said 12 bands being the remaining part of a total issue in the original amount of $62,000.00. All of the above described outstanding bonds are called for payment on May 1, 1952, at the First National Bank of Bryan, at Bryan, Texas, or at the office of the Texas State Treasurer at Austin, Texas, at the option of the holder or holders. Any of said bonds not presented for payment on said date shall cease to bear interest from and after the date ' fixed for their redemption as provided in said option. Dear Judge Ware: Our proposal of March 10th did not include a guarantee maxima price for the repairs to the Court House, and it is not passible for us to guarantee any costs because of the nature of the work and the hazards involved. Simpson Company at between $2,000.00 and $2,500.00 provided no unforeseen conditions are encountered. The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, met in special session in the office of r~ the County Judge at eight o'clock a. m. on Tuesday, April 8, 1952, with the following members presents n A. S. Ware, County Judge, presiding; Raymond A. Nolan, Commissioner, Precinct No. lp Clyde J. Porterfield, Commissioner, Precinct No. 31 cad Newton Burlin, Commissioner, Precinct No. 4. The County Judge presented to the Court the verbal request of Mr. R. B. Butler, President ' of R. B. Butler, Incorporated, contractor, for a release from liability for property damage to the Court- z house which might be occasioned by collapse or other structural failure during the repairs to be made under the contract awarded his company. After same dieaussion of the matter, Commissioner Porterfield moved that Mr. Butler's request be granted and that he be not hsld liable for property damage to the building due to collapse or structural failure during the repairs now being undertaken, with the distinct understanding and provision, however, that this waiver does not extend to or include property damage occasioned by negligence an the part of the Contractor.or an of his employees, and furthermore doss n t i o include public liability or personal injury claims.'
