SPECIAL MEETING, MONDAY, DECEMBER 17, 1951
of the pending lawsuit brought by (}rimes County q by which legal attack is being made upon the w}~
Provisions of Section 1-a of Articla 8, of the Constitution of Texas. In view of the tact that Brazos S~
z• County stands to receive rather substantial financial benefit by the operation of the said Constitutional
• Amendment, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to officially oppose the '
Grimes County case and to authorise the
~ County Judge to represent Brazos County in +hntever capacity may
be necessary to this and. And it was further voted, by motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, to 41; '
r authorize the payment from the'General Fund of not to exceed 825.00 as Brazos County's contribution to
the legal fee to be paid to the firm of Houston attorneys retained by the•Tmas counties which aft
foraally participating in the opposition to the Grimes County lawauit.~x
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay all balls which had
been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

four Underwood typewriters from C. M. Wright, Agent for the Underwood Corporation, at a cost of $155.00
each, or a total of $620.00 for four, as listed in his bid of December 12, 1951.
