In accordance with the foregoing request from the Highway Departmant'and in conformity with a
prior commitment of.ths Court tint Caomlealoner's Precinct No. 2 should recdve the coot State-Ald-alto-•

voted to approve and list with first priority the following pro3ectt
From Reliance Church to connect with Farm-to-Market Highway No. 1178

and on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to approve and list as its second
project the followings

Sheriff J. W. Hamilton appeared before the Court and made an earnest request for salary In.

call at any time during the 24-hour day. Whereupon motion was made and seconded and uncnimouely adopted

by which the Court voted to increase the salaries of the present two deputies Sheriff from an annual rate '
of $2720.00 and $2540.00 respectively, to the annual rate of $3,000.00 each, effective from and with

September 1, 1951.
Commissioner Burlin made formal request of the County Judge that he look up the law and advise

the members of the Court at a special meeting as to whether or not the Court could on its own motion

order an election an the question of adopting the 1947 county optional road law or whether such an

ii
election must be initiated by petition.
Upon motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, it was voted to pay all bills which had been
{
properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.

Whereupon the Court adjourned.
