S. WARE COUNTY JUDOS, BRAZOS CDUKT , APPROyEDs Febrvary•26, 1951 TMAS EDUCATION AGENDY BYr T. J. O'Connor, Supervisor, Auditing Fiscal Services ■ The Court received tin 1950 official Audit Depart at Brazos county as submitted by County Auditor F. J. Vitopil under date of January 29, 1951, and accompanied by the following letter of trana- mittaln "January 29, 1951. Hon. A. S. Wars, County Judge, and the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Tema Centlemenr Submitted herewith is my official audit report of Brazos Courtly, Tries, for the-oalsadar year ended December 31, 1950. I find that all moneys and fees belonging to the county and collected by its various officials and emplobess were properly accounted for and paid over to the County Treasurer as the , law requires, and that these items have been deposited in the official county depository to the credit of the various county funds. The County's outstanding boded indebtedness was reduced $45,000.00 during 1950 by the PQ-' meat and retirement of that mount of outstanding bands, so that with the end of the calendar year - the bonded indebtedness of the county amounted to $641,000.00. Of this latter total the State of Texas, under the term of existing laws, will assume and pay off as its portion the mount of $302,747.50, thus leaving a net balance of $39819122.50 to be paid from county funds. The issuance of $40,660.00 of Road Machinery warrants during the past year have increased this obligation to $60,660.00 as of December 31, 1950. However, $20,000.00 of the original $40,000.00 was paid off and retired during the year. The total assessed valuations for county purposes for the tax year of 1950-51 were $16,171,93Oe36 or an increase of $605,849.00 over'the previous year. During the year, 12050 motor vehicles were registered as compared with 10,850 for 1949. An increase of 1,200. Revenues amounted to $172,003.10 with a net allocation to the Road and Bridge fund of $106,566.03. The 1950 figure is $9,075.58 in excess of the $97,490.45 received by the county in 1949 The aggregate cash balance on hand to the credit of the county on December 31, 1950, was $96,059.12, plus $40,660.00 invested in Brazos County Road Machinery Warrants, making a total of $136,712.12 which reflects an increase of $5,380.05 over 1949. The not debt ratio is now 4.08 per cent and the county continues to enjoy the highest type of credit rating in the financial world. Expenditures of all county fluids were held wall within or bales the budget limits and in my opinion the county's affairs were administered in an honest, economical and businesslike manner. I wish to express my appreciation to the various county officials for their assistance and co- operation during the year and to assure you of my pleasure at being able to work with you.
