The members of the Court discussed in detail the fact that the Road and Bridge Pund and the am- , 41 l : oral Fund of the County are both being depleted by normal expenes to the point that, at least in the s General Fund, a deficit would undoubtedly be created beibre the end of the coming fiscal year. The S county Judge as budget officer reported that a ten cant re&ction in the county tax rate mould be recoo- ; mended for the 1952 budget to be prepared and submitted to the Court during the month of July, 1951. In view of the foregoing and because of the urgent necessity for additional money in the Road and Bridge 'i r~ Fund and the Cenral Fund, both of which are now supported by tax levies to the Constitutional limit it r. , was the unanimous decision of the members of the Court that for the tax year of 1951 the county tax rate should be reduced by tai cants per $100.00 valuation, and that the property renditions should be uniformly increased by twenty-five per cent (25%) from the figures used prior to October 1, 1950. t WHEREUPON, motion was made, duly seconded and urmdmously adopted by which the Court voted to ~ adopt an eighty (80) cant tax rate for the County for the tax year of 1951, to be set up in the budget ± required to be submitted during July of 1951, and further ordered that all of the tax valuetione on the t' • county rolls as of Septamber 30, 1950, the and of the 1950 tax year, be increased by a straight twat 1 1 ` : five per cent (25%), effective from and after this date; and that the Tax Aseesao-Collector of Bravos , ' f • County be instructed to assess all taxes for th 7 the coming year at this Increased valuation. ~ f..'. Boatwright, of Bryan, representing a fart Worth fual oil supply sonipm appeared before the Court and stated that he ram in position to supply the County with fuel oil as required'%W diesel powered equipment and machinery, at a price of 1# to 1-1A# per gallon less than the current price at 1210 per gallon being paid to the local ropresotatives of the mayor oil companies hiving storage bsdl- sties to Bryan. Mr. Boatwright stated, however, that in order to exthad this price to the Cmmty he would have the fuel oil delivered by his company in lots of 3,000 to 5,000 gallons and that this mould nsoessl- tate an increase In Via storage capacity now available to the County Shope. On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted by the Court, it was voted to look Into the matter of providing additional storage "as for fuel oil at the county shops and that if the cwt did not prove prohibitive, to later oo consider the installation of such additional storage space and the taking of open competitive bids for the county's fuel oil needs. Messrs. Oak McKenzie and John L. Sandstadt appeared before the Court reporting that they were mashers of a committee from the Brazos County Bar Association appearing on behalf of the establishment of a 7 an additional Justice Court for Justice Precinct No. 4 of Brazos County, Tessa. Mr. MaKmaie, as spokesman, Esc stated that the law required the establishment of a second Justice Court in Justice precincts containing a .y city of more than 8,000 population accordirgto the last Federal comma. D. Burley, Chairman; for the month of September, 1950; Brazos Gounty Health Unit, for the month of August, 1950; W. M. Kimbrough, County Agricultural Agent, for September, 1950; Emily Ritter, County Home Demonstration Agent, for the month of September, 1950; Fannie J. Taylor, Negro County Ha~me Demonstration Agent, for the month of September, 1950; Annual report of the County Hospitalization Committee by Daniel Russell, Treasurer. Mr. S. L. Boatwright, of Bryan, representing a Fort Worth fuel oil supply company, appeared before the Court and stated that he was in position to supply the County with fuel oil as required by diesel powered equipment and machinery, at a price of 1¢ to 1-1/2¢ per gallon less than the current price of 12~¢ per gallon being paid to the local representatives of the mayor oil companies having storage facil- ities in Bryan. Mr. Boatwright stated, however, that in order to ext~d this price to the County he would have the fuel oil delivered by his company in lots of 3,000 to 5,000 gallons and that this would necessi- ~I tate an increase in the storage capacity maw available to the County Shops.
