Weigher. It was further ordered that the record of the bond filed In connection therewith be eliminated
and the original bond returned to Ur. Walker. This action was taken at the request of Yr. Walker and
the surety company which executed the said bond.
It being the time specified in the law for changes and alterations of voting precincts, the
Court gave consideration to this matter and to the several suggestions which had been made.
Special attention was given to the fact that the Brazos County Democratic Convention of July
{ -
29, 1950, recommended that a study be made of the necessity for changing polling places or revising
voting precinct lima.
The Court also took special notice of the fact that the Brazos County Democratic Faoecutive CP.
mittee found it necessary before the first primary on July 22, 1950, to find a new location for the
polling place in Voting Precinct No. 15, heretofore designated as North Main Street in the City of
Bryan. That committee, as an emergency, had relocated this polling place at the American Legion Hall
on Highway 21 Beat, and thereafter recommended to the Court that this location be designated as the per-,•
manent polling place for Voting Precinct No. 15.
A large number of interested citizens have from time to time during the past year or more,
urgently requested that the polling place for Voting Precinct No. 16 be changed from Shiloh Hall to a `
suitable place in College Hills section of the City of College Station which contains an overwhelming P
majority of the voters of that precinct. It was made known to the Court that Ur. J. C. Culpepper of
College Station had offered the use of the apace now occupied by his real estate offices in the Culpepper
Building in the College Hills section of the City of College Station as a polling place for this voting
precinct.
After a detailed discussion of the foregoing questions and upon a motion which was duly seconded
and unanimously adopted, the Court ordered that for the valandar year 1951 and thereafter, the polling
place for Voting Precinct No. 15, in Brazos County, Texas, be the American Legion Hall on State Highway ;r
21 seat of the City of Bryan and that no change whatsoever be made in the boundaries of this voting
precinct. It was further ordered that the name of this voting precinct be changed from North Pain
street to American Legion Hall.
Likewise, a motion was made, duly seconded and unanimously adopted, that the polling place
of Voting Precinct No. 16 be changed from Shiloh Hall to the Culpepper Building in the College Hills
section of the City of College Station and that the name of this voting precinct be changed from
Shiloh Hall to College Hills.
It was distinctly understood and agreed that no other changes be made at this time in asp
of the other voting precincts of the county.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, it was voted to pay all bills which had been
properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.
