The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas, met in special session Thursday
Morning at ten O'clock a.m., May 25, 1950 at the office of the County Judge of Brazos
County, Texas, at the Courthouse, with the following members presents
A. S. WARE, County Judge, presiding; ,'(9
WILLIAM A. CONRAD, County Commissioner, Precinct No. 2;
j CLYDE J. PORTERFIELD, County Commissioner, Precinct No. 3; and
NEWTON BURLIN, County Commissioner, Precinct No. ye
The purpose of the meeting was to consider and act upon the bid submitted by Mr.
W. E. Goad of Route 1, Box 30, Hearne, Texas, for the purchase of,a used heavy-duty
Galion Motor Grader bought during 1940 and now being operated in Precinct No. 2 of
Brazos County. s;
WHEREUPON it was found and declared by the Court that the bid Of $1500.00 cash °r
submitted by Mr. Goad was the highest and best bid for the item and that it would be
greatly to the advantage of Brazos County to accept such bid and sell the used motor
grader for that price.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the court voted to accept this bid
and to sell the motor grader to Mr. Goad for the $1500.00 cash. Whereupon Mr. Goad appear
In open court and delivered his check for $1500.00, and on motion duly seconded and una- '

($50,000.00) DOLLARS, 20 BECOME WE AND PAYABLE SERIALLY AS FOLLOWSt $2,000.00 IN EACH
OF THE YEARS 1951 THROUGH 1960, INCLUSIVE; AND,$3,000 IN EACH OF THE YEW 1961 THROUGH 1970,
INCLUSIVE, AND BEARIND INTERES." AT THE RATE OF NOT EXCEEDING FOUR (b%) PER CENT FEE AWUM, FOR
THE PURPOSE OF THE CONSTRUCTION AND EQUIPMENT OF PUBLIC FRES SCHOOL BUILDINGS WITHIN THE: LIMITS
OF SAID SCHOOL DISTRICT AND THE PURCHASE OF THE NECESSARY SITES THEREFOR; AND SHALL THE COM-

OF BOW TAX, SHALL NEVER EXCEED THE AMOUNT AUTHORIZED BY LAW AND BY A VOTE OF A MAJORITY

PURPOSE OF FIXING SUCH TAI.

WITHIN SAID DISTRICT FOR THE FURTHER MAINTENANCE OF THE PUBLIC FREE SCHOOLS WITHIN SAID DISTRICT
AN ANNUAL AD VALOREM TAX AT A RATE NOT TO EXCEED ONE DOLLAR ($1.00) ON EACH $100 VALUATION OF
TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN SAID DISTRICT; PROVIDED THAT THE AMOUNT OF MAINTENANCE TAX, TOGETHER
