County Agent Wallace N. Kicbrough appeared beibre the Court and requested permission to be,absect
from the county for the two weeks from August 14 to 29, 1950, inclusive, for the purpose of taking the
pasture improvement course which has beam arranged by the Utension Service of the A. A M. Caloge of Toss.
On motion duly seconded and unahimously adopted, the Court voted to grant this psmission to Mr. Kdabrough
with the underetandiug that no actual expanse wind accrue to Brasoe County by virtue of this absence from
duty.
In accordance with instructions to Sheriff J. W. Hamilton on,April 10, 1950, the Court received
and considered the following bid submitted by Fred C. Seale for the complete rewiring of the electrical
systes In the Brazos County Jailr

On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, The Court voted to tame the foregoing bid and
to take no action thereon. It was further voted to request the Sheriff to again o"act local electrical
contractors and endeavor to secure from them bids or proposals for the complete retiring of the Jail sad
to have these bids or proposals ready for consideration of the Court at special meeting to be hold at ton
o'clock a. m. on Friday, May 12, 1950.
At the request of Commissioner Burlin and in accordance with order of the Court giver on February
13, 1950, on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted the, Court voted to authorise Nr. Burlin to pay to
the Bry-Tex Company of Bryan, Texas, the sum of $700.00 out of Terracing Funds of Precinct No. 4 in settle-
aent for the black topping of the west one thousand feet of the Vile Maria county road extending from
State Highwpr No. 6 on beyond the Sky-Way Theater, it being undsretood that this payment of $700.00 includes
the $300.00 paid to the County by Jack Parr, owner and operator of the Sky-Way Theater, as part of the cost
of this road improvement.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to return to the Peden Iron and
Steel Company of Houston, Texas, the air compressor outfit heretofore ordered from that concern for use at
the Brawl County Shope, and which has been unsucesseful and ineffective in the attempts to operate it for
the past two months.
For use in connection with the fencing of portions of the extension of State Highwe➢r 159 from New
Rldn W No. 6 by way of Millican to Allenfarm, the Court received and considered the following bids on
barbed wire fencingr

Each of the above named presiding fudges shall select two clerks to assist in the conduct of
said election, and each of said presiding fudges shall within five days after said election has been held
make due return thereof to the Commissioners' Court of this County, as is required by law for holding
general elections.
All persons who are legally qualified voters'of this State and of this County and, who are rear
ident property taw-paying citizens in said District shall be entitled to vote at said election,, and all
voters who favor the proposition herein shall have written or printed on their ballote the followings
"FOR the consolidation of Brazos County Common School District No. 10, Kurten;
Brazos County Comm on School District No. 12, Tabor; and Brazos County
Coon School District No. 30, King's Highway, into one single common
school district";
and thosei opposed to such proposition shall have written or printed on their ballots the words

election in Brasos County Comm School District No. 12, Tabor, of Brasos 0oudy, Tani, to determine
whether or not a majority of the property tam-paying citizens resident within said district who are gaat-
ified voters, are in favor of said district'e being consolidated with Brasos County Common School District,,
No. 10, Kurten, and Brasov County Common School District No. 30, King's Highwari and
WHEREAS, said petition bears the signatures of R. C. Elliott and,21 other persons representing
themselves as being qualified voters under the Constitution and laws of this State who are resident property,,
tax-paring citisene within said district, and said petition Is otherwise in conformity with the law; and
WHEREAS, it appears that Brazos County contains a population of 26,971, according to the 1940
United States census, and furthermore that said Brazos County Gammon School District No. 12, Tabor, has
heretofore been properly and legally established.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, A. S. Ware, in may official capacity as County Judge of Brasov County, Texas,,,,
in response to said petition, do hereby order that an alection be held on Saturday, ft 13, 1950, at the ,

who are qualified voters under the Constitution and laws of this State, are in favor of said district's
being consolidated with Brazos County Common School District No. 10, Kurten, and Brazos County Common School

WHEREAS, on the 19th day of April, A. D. 1950, there was-presented to M a petition for,an

teains whether or not a majority of the property tam-paying aitisens resident :dthin said district who-,!-',
are qualified voters under the Constitution and laws of this State, are in favor of said district's Wag,,
consolidated with Brazos County Coon School District No. 10, Kurtas, and Bases County Common School
District No. 12, Tabor; and
WHEREAS, said petition bears the signatures of D. J. Williams and 24 other persons representing
themselves as being qualified voters under the Constitution and laws of this-State who are resident property
tax-paying citisens within said district, and said petition is otherwise in conformity with the law; and
WHEREAS, it appears thotBraaos County contains a population of 26,977, according to the 1940 United
States census, and furthermore that said Brasov County Common School District No. 30, King's Highway, his'
heretofore been properly and legally established.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, A. S. Wars, in may official capacity as County Judge of Brazes County, Texas, in
response to said petition, do hereby order that as election be held on Saturday, May 13, 1950, at the King's
Highway Schoolhouse in said Brazos County Common School District No. 30, King's Highwq, to deteimins *ather
or not a majority of the property tax paying citizens resided within raid district who are qualified voters
under the Constitution and laws of this State, are in favor of said district's being consolidated with Brazos
County Common School District No. 10, Kurten, and Brasov County Coon School District No. 12, Tabor.
Bud Drew is hereby appointed preaidLng fudge of said election and he dual select two clerks to
assist him in holding said election, and he shall within five days after said election has been held make
due return thereof to the Commissioners Court of this County, as is required by law for holding general
elections.
All persons who are legally qualified voters of this State and of this County and who are resident
property taxpaying citizens iq said District stall be entitled to vote at said election, and all voters
who favor the proposition herein shall have written or printed on their ballots the followiag:
'FOR the consolidation of Brazos County Common School District No. 10, Kurten;
Brazos County Common School District No. 12, Tabor; and Brazos County
Common School District No. 30, King's Highways into one single common school
district";
and those opposed to such proposition shall have written or printed on their ballots the wards:
"AGAINST the consolidation of Brazos County Comma School District No. 10, Et:rten;
Brasov County Common School District No. 12, Tabor; and Brazos County Common
School District No. 30, King's Highway, into onus single common school distriet.e
The Sheriff of this County shall give notice of said election by posting a copy of this order in

selves as being qualified voters under the Constitution and laws of this State who are resident property
tax-paying citizens within said district, and said petition is otherwise in conformity wdth the lewt and
WHEREAS, it appears that Brazos County contains a population of 26,9770 according to the 1940
United States census, and furthermore that said Brazos County Common School District No. 27, Smetana, has
heretofore been properly and legally established.
NOW1 THERVORE, I, A. S. Ware, in my official capacity as County Judge of Brazos County, Texas,
in response to said petition, do hereby order that an election be hold on Saturday, May 139 195D, at the
Smetana Schoolhouse in said Common School District No. 27, to determine whether or not a majority of the
resident property tax-paying citiaens within said district who are qualified voters under the Constitution
and lave of this State, desire to levy a local school maintenance tax of seventy-five (75c) canto on the `
$100.00 valuation of taxable property located within said Brazos County Common School District No. 27,
Smetana, and to determine whether or not the Coanissioners' Court of said County shall be authorised to
levy, assess, and collect such local school maintenance tax; and
Charles Merka is hereby appointed presiding officer of said election and he shall select two
clerks to assist him in holding said election and he shall within fuse days after said election has been
held make due return thereof to the Commissioners' Court of this County, as is required by law for hold-
ing general elections.
All persons who are legally'qualified voters of this State and of this County and who are resident
property taxpaying citizens in said District shall be entitled to vote at said election, amid all voters
who favor the proposition herein shall have written or printed on their ballots the followings
"FOR levying and collecting a local school maintenance tax of seventy-five (750)
cents an the 4100.OO valuation of taxable property located within Brazos
County Commoa School District No. 27, Smetana";
and those opposed to such taxation stall have written or
printed on their ballots the wrdss
"AGAINST levying and collecting a local school maintenance tax of seventy-five
(750) cants on the $100.00 valuation of taxable property located within
Brazos County Common School District No. 27, Smetana". "
The Sheriff of this County shall give notice of said election by posting a copy of this ardor
