A del'agar'ica'of'nine ladies representing six local, Home D~mons~rstion Clubs in the
County, appeared before the Court and fomall2 es well as individually expressed their sppl~
clarion of tee cooperation and assistance rendered them, their o~gcnizations end -oommuttitie~
during the pest year by the members of the Commissioners Court. In addition to their ex-
presniose of appreciation and thanks, these ladies made presentation of beautifully deal~ne~
hand-hammered aluminum trays to each of the five members of the Court. Eot these'ex
and the substantial remembrances, the Couaty,~ud~o and the four Commissioners all assured
the visitors of their warm appreciation and thanks for their kindness and thoughtfulness.
The delegation consisted of the follow~ng ladies who represented the Ho~e De mon st rs t i on
Clubs of the communities listed:

After detailed and extended dts~uselon and analysis of the road machinery a~d e'quip-
ment bids, and finding ths~ the spanified bids were the lc~est add best for the items men°
tioned, on motion duly seconded end u~ nimously adopted, the Court voted to accept the bide
and purchase from the named bidders the following', items, to be shipped for immediate de-
livery, f.o.b. , Bryan, Texas, et the prises and allowances indicated, at a total 'cost of

For the purpose of providing suff~ient funds in ~he Road Ma~inery and Equipment
Item of the Road and Bridge Fund, the members of the Court unanimously a~eed ,that the
$7,000.00 item aa now contained in that budget, would ba augmented by taking $8,000.~0
from the $10,000.00 Ri~J~t-of-Wsy Fencing it~a and $5,000.00 ~f the $20,000.00 item orig-
inally dasd~ated for new road construction, thus providing for s total of $20,000.00
shall be desigested for use in the purchase of newroad machinery end equipment of Brazes
County in the 1950 budget.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted repay all bills
~ioh had bean mroperly filed end aporoved end for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court recessed.
