The entire Court than proceeded ia a body to Austin, Tex~..a, on oiTloial business of'
Brazes County on behalf of the cause of rural roads in Texas and for the p&rtioula~ purpose
of urSl~ the ~assasa by the Forty-First Lmsislaturs of H. B. No. 59, which would levy a tax
on natural sas and thus provide a fund for the oonetru~tion and,maintenance of rural roads
in Texas whioh ars not now provided for.
Upon return to ltr~ea late that nlsht, the Court by motion_dul~y seconded and ~nan-
lmously adopted, voted ~o reffund to County ~udse A. 9. War,s, the Sum of. ~14,90 paid out aa
subsistence and maintenance expense for the five members of t~e Court for the full da~ ea
route to, in, and from Austin, Texas.
The Court further voted to reimburse Commissioner Clyde ~. Porter_field in aha amount
of $12.48 for use of his personal automobile in traneportin8 the five m~mbers of the Cou~
from Bryan to Austin and return, a total of 208 miles at 6¢ per mlle.
These two items totalir~ ~7j58 were ordered paid from the travel expense items of
the Road and Brtd~e Fund as set up tn the 1949 county bndsst.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to pay from the
Oeneral Fund ct' the county the sum of ~50.00 to Fred B. Olnas of Marlin, Texas, Secretary-
Treasurer of the County ~udsea and Commissioners Association of Texas, aa Brazes County's
pro rata of the expense of legislative service for 1949 on behalf of the cause of rural foad~
