On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to authorize the
County Clerk to record the plat and dedication ~fMARGARET WALLACE SUBDIVISION of an
acre tract in the Moses Baine League, Brazes County, Texas, submitted by Mrs. ~rgaret
Wallace under date of June 1~, 195~; with the distinct stipulation, however, that Brazes
County shall not thereby become liable for the constr~,ction or maintenance of any streets' -
or roadse
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the ~ourt voted to pay from the
Permanents-Improvements Fund the $~93.00 authorized by the Court on May 12, 195g, an~ covered
by R~quisition No..1222 for the purchase of two ~del ?0 gasoline and fuel oil discharge
p~umps for use at't~e 'B~azos Count~ Shops. and now represented by Wayne ~u~p Company, Fort

The Court received and heard a delegation of apprax~mately 1~ citizens livln~ on ce
near the Villa Maria county road) ubs appeared on behalf of improvenent8 for that thceou~hfar,
and especially abatement of the du~t nuisance now peevailing. Tho entire membership of tho
Court assured these citizens of their interest in their problem and desire to remedy tho un-
8atlsfactcey condition of that road. Tho matter wa8 referred to Comissioner Burlin who a~ro~
to use his best efforts and available means to improve at least tho section of the road ~hich
was reported to be in ~he greatest need.
On motion duly seconded and unanimously adoptedj the Court voted to pay all bills
which had been properly filed and approved and for which budgeted funds are available.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

~H~REAS, it appears that said Common 3chool District No. 1 is now collactin6 and
using a local ~na~ntenancs tsx of 35¢ per $100o00 valuation of taxable property within said
district; and
i~B~/~EA3, on May ?, 19~g, the County ~udge of Brasos County~ Texase ordered an olectic
to be held on May 22~ 19~8, in confo?n~tty with said ps~ttion and for the purposes therein
enumeratede end w~lch are here~nabove se~ out, and proper notices were issued and posted as
required by law, but the person named as presidin~ Judge in said order failed to hold tho
election as dirsctsde and therefore the resident property taxpaying citizens within said
district have not yet been permitted to decide the question of increasing the local mainte-
nance school tax by their official ballots.
NOW, TH~EFORE, I, A. 3. ~are~ in my official capacity as County Judge of Brasos
County, Texas, in response ~o said petition, do hereby order that an election be held on
3aturday~ ~uly 3, 19~, at the Templeman 3chool buildin~ in said Common
to determine whether or not a majority o.f, the resident property taxpayin~ citizens who ars
legally qualified voters in such district desire to lev~ an additional local school mainte-
nance tax or increase the existir~ local school maint~ancs tax from 35~ to ~O~e on the
$100o00 valuation of taxable property within said dist~ict~ end to determine whether or not
th.e ¢on~,nissioners, Court of said ,County shall be autho~izsd ~o levy~ '~sess, end collect suchi
increased local school maintenance tax; and ·
