monthly payment to Albert Elbrich, an indigent parson, from $22.~0 to $)0o00 per month,
effective from ~anuary 1, 19~8, which item is to be pai~ from the Osneral Fund.
The Court received and approved the request of. Tax Assessor-Collector Io N° Weedon
for the appointment of tlre. Ruth ~ones as Deputy Tax Assessor-Collector of Brazes County,
Texas, effective from ~anuary 1, 19~8, at the rate of $1800o00 per annum, to be paid out of
the extra help allotment budgeted to the of Tioe of the Tax Assessor-Collector, and author

On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court voted to authorize the
County Clerk to record the plat and dedication of R. B. DARLINg, SUBDMSION, a subdivision of
a part of a 10-74/100 acre tract of land in the Stephen F. Austin League I~o. 10, Brazos
County, Texas, as submitted by R. B. Darl,ing and wife, Annie M. Darling, under date of
~anuary 12, 1948; with the distinct stipulation, however, that Brazos County shall not
thereby become liable for the construction or maintenance of any streets or roads.
Then came Mrs. ~ewel ~.~. ~ontgomery, County Treasurer, acting through her Deputy, Mr.
2. B. Covington, and delivered in open court the originals of the fo.llowl:g described bonds
which had heretofore been paid off and retired and which are now pronounced to be ready f~r
destruction and official retirement from the outstandl~8 indebtedness of the County. Where-
upon the original bonds, as design~ed'below and of the total amount ~:of'$36,000.00, ~re ~

Whereupon a motion was made and duly seconded that this fund be pro-rated as t'ollowe:

Whereupon County ~udge Ware and 0ommiseloners Burkhalter, Conrad, and Porterfield voted for
the motion and Commissioner Burlin voted against it. ~e chair then declared the motion to
have been adopted by a vote of four to one.
On motion duly seconded and adop.ted by a vote of tour to one, with affirmative votes
of County ~ud~e Ware and Commissioners Burkhalter, Porterfleld, and Burlin, and negative vote
of Commissioner Conrad, the Court voted that the County offer ,for sale the two ~alioll motor
graders, Model No. 101, for the highest cash prises obtainable, and that ~he proceeds from
such sale be placed in the Road Machinery Fund; and instructed the County Auditor to adver-
tise these machines for public sale for sash upon bids to be received by the Commissioners'
Court at the regular l~ebruary meeting, which ie February 9, 19~8, and according to the fol-
lowing notice:

The Commissi~oners' Court of ~razos County, Texas, will receive
bide up to ten o'clock a'; m., on Monday, February 9, 19~8, for the
sale of used read machinery designated as follows:

graders, in fair-to-good condition.
These machines may be inspected at the Brazes County Shops near
Bryan or while in use on Brazes County roads·
The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or
to accept the offer which is considered most advantageous.

On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court formally ratified o.ap. oel-,
1etlon of its order placed on December 15, 1947, by Requisition Order No. 1202 to the Rt-_Wa~
Equipment Company, Ino,, 953 MoCarty Street, Rouston 15, ~exae, for one new Aus~in,-Western
Model No. 99-R power road grader complete, at a net cash pries of;$~0,1~3.20~ the original
requisition having been returned by the Company for cancellation.
Messrs. Ivan Langford, R. O. Seals and ~ohn Kopecky appeared before the Court and pre-
sented the matter of needed repairs on the bridge over the Little Brazes River on the 01d
B~yan-~umford County Road and delivered the following written agreement which had been ewe-
outed by them:
