The purpose of this meetin~ was to consider and canvass the returns f~cm a spsoini-'

r~pon examination of the ballots, it was f~und that not a s. insle ballot carried the slsn~tu~
or name of the preeidin~ Judea or was numbered, as ia required by law, ®specially unda~ ,
Articles ~008, ~012 and ~018, which a~e soneidered by the Court to bo mandatory, end also as
required by parasraph ~ of Section 278~.-b of the Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, ns amended
Whereupon on motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, the Court found and declared that
no lcsal election had been held.
Whereupon the Court adjourned.

Whereupsn it was found and officially declared by the Court that the duly qualified
who are resident property tax-paying citizens of said Br~zos County 0ommon School District
Rs. 17, Rye-Stabler, had officially voted to increase the local maintenance tax of said
school district from twenty (20~) cents to seventy-five (75g) cents, which increase and rate
shall go into effect from and after the first day of October, 19~7, an~ which increased rate
