Oeatlemen: The Civil Aeronautics Authority has recently executed a contrast for paving certain runways at Easterwood Field, the College Airport. This field is being used rather freely by the Army Air Corps as a landing field for planes from all over the State. It is soon to be used f~r preliminary flight testa in connection with the training of 1,000 Cadets now loosted on the Campus. The Austin Road Company has been awarded the contract for paving the Airport end needs space beside railroad switches for its sand, gravel and other material. We should like to Join with the contractor in requesting the Commissioners' Court to temporarily reroute traffic aa ~ndicated on the enclosed map. This would involve the following tem- porary chan~es: 1. Closing the section of the county road (old highway six} between Lubbock Street and L:cquillen Street. This would allow the contractor to freely use this segment for the material trunks without t~affio hazard.
