Lambert, who has he~e- -~,;tofore'eurved as.secretary to the .County ~udge and. the C~mmissioners' Court effective · November 30, 19~2, and oooaolgnod ~y her acceptance of a more attractive a~polntment.- '~undor Civil Service! for duty in the United ~tates'Ar~ Air Field located Oa motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, tho Court ratified the emp~dym~nt, effective December l, 1962, of Mrs° O. I. Oray, a8 secretary to the County Judge end the CommAasioners' Court, at salary of $12~,00 $1~00.00 and a per month, or per lnorease the appropriation for this salary for 19&) fro~ $1200o00 to $1500o00o It was provided that ~ra. Oray's salary for the =onth of Deoe~ber, 19~2, be f~zed at one-half the regular salary, bsoausa aha oould devote only one-half of her time to this employment for that month. The Court received and acaepted the written resignation of November 30, 19~2, of l/snry ~. Kurten, as Constable of ~ustioe Pres/not 3, Brazos County,Texas, end his decline tlon of this office for a new term of two years, beginning ~anuary l, 19/~3o The C~urt however, too~ no action to make an appointment to this position et the presen~tma. Kurton's resignation wes occasioned by his havin~ entered ~he armed services of the At ~he request and on the recommendation of Commissioner l.l.lAyohlik,it was una- nimously voted by the Court to abandon and discontinue 1-1/2 males of county road Precinct ~2, known as the Chytil ~ne, and in lieu thereof to open up end establish four-tenths of a mile of new road as an extension of the ~eorge Tap Road into the V. dg~ et thelr own expense. '~e Court received a written petition dated November 7, 19/~2, from Tom Hill and sixteen other negro citizens of ~he ~ounty wherein it was requested that Increases in salary be glven the two He,rs County Agents. After duly oonsiderin6 this request, the Court voted to take no action st the present time and to file the petition for future reference. This lack of action was due primarily to the present Judgment of the Court that the Negro County Agent had only recently o~ne to ~razos County and has yet to prove and establish himself. The Court by unanimous vote, authorized the Gounty Judge to close a contrast with detailed audit of all Brazoa County accounts and funds, including School ,funds, for the ye-,r, 19~2, at a contract prise of $~00.00, to be paid from the General Fund. On motion, it was voted to pa, all bills which had been filed and approved, prov,- ded that absolutely no over,run of budget items be inaurred. WHE~,A'OPOH, the Court ,ecessed, subject to call. W~.D~DAY, DECEI~BER 23, 19~2 At a recessed meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County,Texas, held in the office of the County ~udCe at ten o'alooM a.m., ~eoember 23, 1~2, the following were present: A. S. Ware, County ~udge, presiding; C. M. ~raham, Commissioner of Preoinat No. 1; ~. A. Ryohllk, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2; and Fred A. Wehrman, Commissioner of Precinct No. ~. The C°urt re°sired and appr°ved' bym°ti°n unanim°usly ad°pted"the rep°ri °'e the Brazos County Health Unit for the month of November, On emtlon duly seconded end unanimously adopted, it was voted td &rant one week or seven daze' leave with pay to Tony Ealine~, County Mechanic and Precinct A'urohasing Agent! this leawe to be taken through the Christmas and ~ew Year, Hollduys. TOXAB, · · ; ' ·: On motion duly seconded and unanimously adopted, tho Court ratLtl~d tho empldyment, effective ~eoember 1~ '1942, of Mrs° C, Es Oray~ as Secretary to the County JudGe end the Commissioners' Court, at a salary of $125o00 per month, or $1500.00 par annum; and lnoreose the appropriation for this salary for 19Z~3 fro~ $1200.00 to $1500o00o It was provided that L~rs. Orey's salary for the month of December, 1942, be fixed at $62°50, or, one-half the reaular salary, because e~a could devote only one-half of,her time to this employment for that month. The Court received end accepted the written resignation of,November 30, l~h2, of Henry ~. Kurten, es Constable of ~ustioa Precinct 3, Brazes County,Texas, end his deolina~ tlon off this office for a new term of two.years, beGinnin& ~anuary l~ 1~/,3. At the request and on the recommendation of Commissioner ~oAol~ychlik,it was una- nimously · oted by the Court to abandon and discontinue 1-1/2 m/les of aounty road in Precinct //2, known as the Chytil ~ane, and in lieu thereof to open up end establish , four-tenths of a mile o~ new road as an extension off the George Tap Road in~o the county road, provided that' the landowners donate the right-of-way and build ell at their own expense. The individual members of the Court were unanimous and d~fl'nlte i~ their expressions to Commissioner C. M.
