~EAS, BAizes County suffered a great loss in the passing
ca April 10, 1940, of our distin~uished and able District ~ud~e
W. C. Davis, and
WHEREA~, The lo~ and continuous public service of this good '
man and fine p~blic official, as well as his eterl~n~ qu~llties
as a man and citizen, have combined to give h~m~ a place in thc
official records and hearts and lives of our people such as
achieved by no other man within our borders duri~ the recol-
lection of the present administration of this county;
NOW T~ BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS, COURT OF
~AZOS COUNTY, TEXA~, in session on this the 16th day of April,
~, 1940, during the regular April term thereof, that in the passl~
of this most distinguished Jurist and citizen Brazes County
and its citizenship in general have suffered irreparable loss,
and yet in the midst of this feeling of grief and sorrow, the
· ~ . u~dying reputation he achieved should brighten the outloo~ and
at the sa~e time be of tremendous consolation to all those
· . who loved him; and

BE IT F~RTH~R RE~OLVED That, an entire page in t~ minutes of

good man, and that copies of this resolution be transmitted by
