To the Con~missioners, Court Brazes Oounty, Texas ]~on, Texas. Gentleman: 'A~xis is formal request, mnst seriously urged, for sma.ll increases In pa~ for the two .~e~uties Sheriff who ha~ served the Oounty so well in the past. I refer to ~"r. Henry Koontz, who wqs for some yeax. s before m~ tez~ began, a deputy, and N~,. ~ W. Hamilton. feel that these two officers are rendering a very. high type of service to the People ,. of Brazes County, and ! know that their services are very satisfactory lndeeed to me as yotu Sheriff. It is ~.understanding that M~. Eoontz ls now drawing the same salar2 he w~ to for several years ago. I also know that ~r. Hamilton would now be drawing at .least $12~.00 .if he had remainded in his former amploy~ent, for the reason that others in s~mllar saps'- cities are drawing that amount. In view of these matters, I most respectfully fancy, end that the pay of Mr. Eoontz be increased from $12~.00 per month, his present salary, to $135.00 per month, or an increase of ten dollars per month; and that Mr. Hamilton be increased from $110.00 to $125.00 per month or an increase of ~1~.00 per month. Your attention is further called to the fact that these officers receive no perquisites of any kind, and since they ar~ subjected to all ,the dangers and long hours and are rendering such high type of service, I feel that in- Justice will be done if we do not rec~gmlze these men in a more SUbstantial manner. I shall appreciate your kindly consider~tion of this request.
