BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION

THE BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A WORKSHOP
SESSION ON TUESDAY, JULY 16, 2002 AT 11:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS
COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET,
SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.
THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING IS TO HAVE A PRESENTION AND DISCUSSION
OF THE 2003 PLAN INFORMATION FOR THE BRAZOS COUNTY ADCR (Variable
Rate).

WORKSHOP SESSION
JULY 16, 2002
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in
a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 11:00
a.m. on Tuesday, July 16, 2002, with the following members of
the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
C. B. Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Commissioners Court met in Workshop Session to hear
a presentation and have a discussion on the 2003 plan
information for the Brazos County ADCR (variable rate).
Kim Beverly, representative of the Texas County and
District Retirement System, spoke on the following topics:
a) Supplemental Death Benefits
b) Cost of Living increase for retired employees
c) Partial Lump Sum Distribution
d) 20 year retirement
e) Buy Back Approval Study request deadline of
September 1, 2002.

f) Informed Court of the .5918 increase in costs just
to keep retirement options the same.
There being no further discussion, the County Judge ended
the workshop Session.

held July 16, 2002, have been examined and approved in open
