THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
ON FRIDAY, JUNE 14, 2002 AT 1:30 P.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM
OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115,
BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. Call to Order.
2. Consider and take action on lease agreement with the Bryan Independent School
District for a portable classroom building for the purpose of providing academic
programs to juveniles.
3. Consider and take action on funding for the moving and set-up costs of a portable
classroom building.
4. Adjourn.
The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive

SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 14, 2002
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 1:30
p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2002, with the following members of
the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm.S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent
C. B. Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and
officials that were in attendance.
The first matter before the Court was the lease agreement
with the Bryan Independent School District for a portable
classroom building for the purpose of providing academic
programs to juveniles. The Court was informed that there
didn't appear to be a problem with placing the building on
Main Street and that the property owner had given his verbal
permission to place the building at the site. Commissioner
Tony Jones suggested getting the permission in writing from
the Varisco estate. Ernie Wentrcek, Juvenile Services
Director, said he would take care of getting a letter from the

Varisco estate. On motion by Commissioner Tony Jones,
seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously
to enter into a lease agreement with the Bryan Independent
School District for a portable classroom building.
The next matter for consideration was to approve funding
for the moving and set-up costs of a portable classroom
building. On motion by Commissioner Tony Jones, seconded by
• Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to allocate
$3,500.00 from contingency funds for the moving and set-up
costs of a portable classroom building.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.

Re: Lease of Portable Classroom Building for Juvenile Program
Dear Judge Jones:
The Bryan Independent School District (the "District"), for the amount of $1.00, agrees to lease to
Brazos County (the "County"), one double portable classroom building for the purpose of
• providing academic programs to juveniles. This lease will become effective when adopted by the
Brazos County Commissioners Court and extends through June 30, 2003. Terms of the lease are
as follows:
1. The District will provide to the County a double portable classroom building of the District's
choice, complete with AC units, skirting, access ramp, and blocks. The District will be
responsible for all utility disconnects. The County agrees to accept the building as is, with all
faults.
2. The County is responsible for moving the portable classroom building, by July 1, 2002, from
its current location at 1918 N. Earl Rudder Freeway to the County site. The County is
responsible for all fees, permits, licenses, and labor to move, set up and install.
3. Before the end of this lease, the County agrees to move the portable classroom building from
the County site to a site to be determined by the District The County will be responsible for
all fees, permits, licenses, and labor to move, set up and install.
4. The County agrees to return the portable classroom building to the District in the same
condition as was received, normal wear and tear excepted.
5. This lease may be renewed for a period of one-year with approval by the District and County.
