The County Judge noted the time and recessed the meeting until 2:00 p.m. The following • members of the Court were present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2; C.B. Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The Commissioners Court met in Workshop Session to discuss the following: 1. The burial policy for Boonville Cemetery. The current policy does not allow burials. The Commissioners Court has received a request by Connie Carll to bury her mother's cremated remains • in the Boonville Cemetery. The deceased's parents and sister are on the list of those allowed burial and several descendants are buried in Boonville Cemetery with well marked graves. Randy Sims noted that the cemetery was closed because State Law says if a governmental entity owns or operates a cemetery, they must employ a full time sexton. Commissioner Thornton asked Patricia Meronoff to check the current laws and see if there is an exception to cremation for example. Vol 30 page 311 0 2. The equipping and accessorizing of county vehicles. Judge Jones noted no consistency with departments on their request for vehicles. There was much discussion on the needs of each department and whether or not lightbars should be visible. Commissioner Cauley stated he does not agree that each department needs the same equipment. Deputy Cruz of Constable, Precinct 2 stated he believes the vehicles should be a different color for each precinct because they are different agencies. Constable Thompson of Precinct 3 noted that different colors help identify each agency when there is a complaint. It was determined that Constable, Precinct 1 has three cars and three employees, Constable, Precinct 2 has six cars and five employees, Constable, Precinct 3 has four cars and three employees, and Constable Precinct 4 has four cars and three employees.
