TEXAS 9 NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 13, 2001 AT 10:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. The Court will consider the posting of speed limits on Jones Road between State Highway 47 and FM 60. The site is in Precinct 4. All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or against the posting of speed limits on Jones Road. The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. To make arrangements, call (979) 361-4102. • COMMISSIONERS' COURT PUBLIC HEARING NOVEMBER 13, 2001 The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing to consider the posting of speed limits on Jones Road between State Highway 47 and FM 60. The site is in Precinct 4. The meeting was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2001, with the following members of the Court present: • Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Karen McQueen, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary for and against the proposed setting of speed limits on Jones Road. The County Judge turned the meeting over to Mike Parks, representative of the Metropolitan Planning Organization who proceeded to tell the Court that based on the traffic count of 470 cars per day and the average percentile, the speed limit should be set at 50 mph. • Commissioner Cauley stated he felt the speed limit should be set at 45 to 50 mph. Judge Jones said he would be likely to support 45 mph. Theo Richardson, citizen, stated she lives on Foster Road, near Jones Road. She said she would like to see the speed limit set at 45 mph.
