THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A CALLED MEETING ON FRIDAY,
OCTOBER 12, 2001 AT 3:00 P.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE
BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN,
TEXAS.
1. Call to order.
2. Consider and take action on Personnel Changes of Status.
3. Appointment of a director for the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation District.
4. Adjourn.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING
OCTOBER 12, 2001
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 3:00
p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2001, with the following members
of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Absent;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm.S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Presiding;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
The attached sheet contains the names of the citizens and
officials that were in attendance.
The Court proceeded to consider the change of status of
employees as submitted on the attached Personnel Action
Requests. On motion by Commissioner Jones, seconded by
Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to approve
the changes as submitted.
The next matter for consideration was the appointment of
a director for the Brazos Valley Groundwater Conservation
District. The two names submitted for consideration were Leon
Denena and Wayne Wilson. Jerry Bullin spoke in support of
Leon Denena and Jim Mazurkiewitz spoke in support of Wayne
Wilson. Commissioner Cauley stated that he didn't know either
candidate but his constituents preferred Leon Denena and that
he felt compelled to support him. Commissioner Sims moved to
appoint Wayne Wilson. Commissioner Jones seconded the motion.
Commissioners Sims Thornton and Jones voted "Aye".
Commissioner Cauley abstained. The motion passed.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.
