TUESDAY, AUGUST 7, 2001 AT 10:00 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM
OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115,
BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. Call to Order.
Discussion of the following topics:
2. City of Bryan's Downtown Master Plan.
3. Including College Station Medical Center as a provider for medical services for County
employees.
4. Group Medical/dental Insurance Plan change options.
5. Sick Leave Pool Policy change options.
6. Texas County and District Retirement System:
a. 2002 Plan Options for Variable-Rate (ADCR) Plans
b. Supplemental Death Benefits Fund
c. Twenty-year Service Retirement Option

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
WORKSHOP SESSION
AUGUST 7, 2001
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in
a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2001, with the following
members of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Karen McQueen, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Commissioners Court met in Workshop Session to
discuss the following topics:
1. City of Bryan's Downtown Master Plan one
component being building a parking structure
and transit station where the county owned
Courthouse Annex is located. The city would
build a new building for the Community
Supervision offices.
2. Including College Station Medical Center as a
provider for medical services for County
employees. The Med is offering Brazos County
employees the same rates and discounts as St.
Joseph's Hospital.
3. Group Medical/Dental Insurance Plan Change
Options. These include making dental plan
contributory, increasing the Co-Pay amount,
change in percentage of coverage and change
the deductible.
4. Sick Leave Pool Policy Change options. This
would include increasing donation from three
to ten days, making it a requirement that an
employee donate to the sick leave pool to be
eligible to draw from the pool.
5. Texas County and District Retirement System
A. 2002 Plan Options for variable Rate
(ADCR) Plans
B. Supplemental Death Benefits Fund
C. Twenty-Year Service Retirement Option
