NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will conduct a public hearing to discuss
Subdivision Regulations.
The place of the hearing will be the Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive, Assembly Room III,
Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Monday, October 16, 2000 and the time of the
hearing will be 6:00 p.m.

All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and participate in the discussion
The Brazos Center is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request
for sign interpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. To make

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
OCTOBER 16, 2000
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to discuss Subdivision Regulations. The
meeting was held at the Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive,
Assembly Room III in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2000, with the following
members of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed subdivision regulations. The
County Judge turned the meeting over to Ray Crow, Engineering
Aide with the Road & Bridge Department who proceeded to brief
the Court on the changes made to the existing subdivision
regulations. Some are as follows:
1. Flag Lot defined
2. Page 6 - Commissioners Court will only
see the final plat. First and second
plats will be reviewed by the Road and
Bridge Department.
3. Page 22 references designing a 100 year
flood design for cul de sacs. Dick
Birdwell took except to this.
4. Page 25 Lime stabilization of sub-grade.
Commissioner Sims took exception to this
because the county does not do this when
building a road.
Edsel Jones asked for clarification between a mobile home
park and a mobile home rental park. He stated that the roads
in the mobile home parks are owned by the owners of the park.

Dick Birdwell stated that the plat of Wickson Lake
Estates was approved in 1970. He took exception to the lot
sizes and road width in the new regulations.
There being no further comment, the County Judge declared
the Public hearing closed.
