Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary for and against the proposed posting of speed limits on Old Reliance Road and Lakefront Road in Precinct 3. The County Judge turned the meeting over to Ray Crow, Engineering Aide for the Road and Bridge Department, who proceeded to tell the Court that three locations on Old Reliance Road were used for the traffic study. The average speed was 53.1 miles per hour. Based on the traffic counts and the average percentile, he recommended that the speed limit be set at 50 mph. For Lakefront Road he informed the Court that the average speed was 32.43 miles per hour. He then recommended that the speed limit be set at 30 miles per hour. Demetrios Basdekas, concerned citizen, stated that he felt that those were reasonable speeds for the two roads and supported the recommendations.
