NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT

The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the
+ posting of speed limits on Andert Road located in Precinct 3.
The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse, Room
115, 300 East 26ih Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Tuesday, March 21, 2000
and the time of the hearing will be 10:30 a.m.
All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or against
the posting of speed limits on Andert Road.
The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for
sign interpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. To make

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
MARCH 21, 2000
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider setting of speed limits on Andert
Road in Precinct 3. The meeting was held in the
Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21,
2000, with the following members of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Absent;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Presiding;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed setting of speed limits on Andert
Road.
Commissioner Sims asked Ray Crow for an evaluation of the
traffic study. Mr. Crow informed the Court that the study was
done in two locations along Andert Road. One being near
Highway 21 and the other near Old Reliance Road. At the
Highway 21 location, the average speed was 46.4 miles per
hour. At the Old Reliance location, the average speed was
51.6 miles per hour. He then recommended setting the speed
" limit along the entire length of the road at 50 miles per
hour. Commissioner Sims told the Court that another
subdivision was being developed in the area along with a day
care center. That would add to the congestion along the road.
He said he would prefer a 45 mile per hour speed limit.
Demetrios Basdekas stated that he approved of the lower
speed limit.
There being no further comment, Commissioner Sims
declared the Public hearing closed.
