TEXAS 8Y i)CPUT NOTICE OF MEETING BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING ON TUESDAY, JANUARY 3, 1995 AT 10:30 A.M. THE HEARING WILL BE HELD IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITS 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. THE PURPOSE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING IS TO CONSIDER CHANGING THE NAME OF STEEL STORE CUT-OFF ROAD TO SIMS LANE. The building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. F E, i f r. t' t , I , COMMISSIONERS' COURT PUBLIC HEARING JANUARY 3, 1995 The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a public Hearing on Tuesday, January 3, 1995 at 10:30 a.m. The Hearing was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, to consider changing the name of Steel Store Cut-Off Road to Sims Lane. The following members of the Court present: Al Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant Ray Crow Road and Bridge Steve Smith County Court at Law I The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary for and against the proposed changing of the name of Steel Store Cut-Off Road to Sims Lane. The County Judge noted that no one was in attendance to. give commentary for or against the name change. Ray Crow of the Road and Bridge Department presented a letter from a Mr. James P. Newberry II requesting the name be changed to Sims Lane. This road enters the old Sims plantation that has been in Mr. Newberry I s family for over one hundred years. According to the letter, this small portion had always been a part of Sims Lane but when the new maps were made, that portion between FM 50 and Steel Store Road was called Steel Store Cut-off. There being no further business to come before the Court, the Public Hearing was adjourned.
