NOTICE OF MEETING
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING
THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL MEET IN SPECIAL SESSION ON MONDAY,
DECEMBER 19, 1994 AT 5:30 P.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE CREATION OF ADDITION ELECTION PRECINCTS TO COMPLY
WITH SEC. 42.005 a(6) OF THE TEXAS ELECTION CODE AND THE CITY OF
BRYAN SINGLE MEMBER DISTRICT LINES. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD IN
THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300
EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
DECEMBER 19, 1992
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider the creation of additional election
precincts to comply with Sec. 42.005 a(6) of the Texas
Election Code and the City of Bryan Single Member District
lines. The meeting was held in Commissioners' Courtroom in
the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at
5:30 p.m. on Monday, December 19, 1994, with the following
members of the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:
Bea Green Secretary to Commissioners
Phil Meuret Road & Bridge
Chad Nehring City of Bryan
Naomi Fackler LWV
Helen Wilcox Brazos County Resident
Irene Hously Brazos County Resident
The County Judge stated that the purpose of the Public
Hearing was to hear commentary for and against the creation of
additional election precincts to comply with Sec. 42.005 a(6)
of the Texas Election Code and the City of Bryan Single Member
District lines.
Commissioner Sims explained how Mr. Phil Meuret of the
Road and Bridge Department worked with the City of Bryan to
keep from redrawing the County Precinct lines because, he
explained, Single Member District lines supersede County
precinct lines. Mr. Meuret then explained how the affected
precincts were drawn; some with an "A", "B" designation.
These will be used in the City of Bryan elections only. He
stated that precincts 18, 30, and 45 were drawn with an "A",
"B", and "C" designation.
Chad Nehring, representative of the City of Bryan told
the Court that the City Secretary had already received

x u preclearance from the Justice Department based on the maps
submitted. Commissioner Sims stated that he appreciated the
opportunity to work with the City of Bryan and thanked Mr.
Meuret for a fine job.
There being no further commentary, the County Judge
