NOTICE OF MEETING
BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT MEETING
THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL MEET IN SPECIAL SESSION ON MONDAY,
NOVEMBER 21, 1994 AT 10:30 A.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A PUBLIC
HEARING ON THE POSTING OF SPEED LIMITS ON STRAUB ROAD, STOUSLAND
ROAD AND HOPES CREEK MEADOW CIRCLE IN PRECINCT 1. THE MEETING WILL
BE HELD 'IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY
COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
NOVEMBER 21, 1992
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider traffic regulation on various
county roads pursuant to Section 2.301 of the County Road and
Bridge Act, Art. 6702-1 subchapter D, Vernons Civil Statutes
in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:30 p.m. on Monday,
November 21, 1994, with the following members of the Court
present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding:
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
• Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

Ray Crow Road & Bridge
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the posting of speed limits on Straub Road,
Stousland Road and Hopes Creek Meadow Circle in Precinct 1.
Commissioner Norton opened the meeting and asked for
comments.
Mary Horn - Justice of the Peace Precinct 2 - recommended
a 40 mph to 45 mph speed limit on Straub Road, a
45 mph speed limit on Stousland Road and a 40 mph
speed limit on Hopes Creek Meadow Circle.
Commissioner Norton informed the Court that Ray Crow of
the Road and Bridge Department had done a traffic study. Mr.
Crow proceeded to advise the Court of his findings. He stated
that the average speed on Straub Road ,was 42.5 mph and he
recommended a 40 mph speed limit. The average speed on
Stousland Road was 47.5 mph and he recommended a 45 mph speed'
limit. The average speed on Hopes Creek Meadow Circle was
30.2 mph and he recommended a 30 mph speed limit.
There being no further comment, Commissioner Norton
declared the Public Hearing closed.
