BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' COURT FETING
THE COMMISSIONERS' COURT WILL MEET IN SPECIAL SESSION MONDAY,
AUGUST-29, 1996 AT 11:00 A.M. FOR THE PURPOSE OF HOLDING A PUBLIC ~HEARING ON THE CLOSING OF TWO RAILROAD CROSSINGS IN PRECINCT 1.-
THE MEETING WILL BE HELD IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF THE
BRAZOS.COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN,
TEXAS.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING
AUGUST 29, 1994
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider closing two (2) railroad crossings
located in Precinct 1. The Public Hearing was held in the
Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos
County, Texas, beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 29,
1994, with the following members of the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent]
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:
Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant
Ray Crow Road & Bridge Department
William Foster TxDOT Bryan Region
Douglas G. Woods Union Pacific Rail Road
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed the following crossings:
CROSSING NO. 1. - This is an unnamed railroad
crossing located approximately 0.3 of a mile
southeast of the South Dowling Road and FM 2154
intersection.
CROSSING NO. 2 - This is an unnamed railroad
crossing located 1.1 miles southeast of the
Whiteswitch Road and Old Highway 6 intersection.
The County Judge explained that the Railroad was
requesting the closing of the crossings and that it could be
done with little impact on county residents and the driving
public.
Those in attendance did not request to be heard, but
informed the Court that they were there to merely gather
information. After advising Mr.'Foster of the exact location
of the crossings, the County Judge announced the Public
Hearing closed.
