THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN SPECIAL SESSION ON TUESDAY,
MARCH 30, 1993, AT 10:30 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS' COURTROOM OF
THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115,
BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. Consider and take action on request from Thomas R. and Barbara
J. Saving for authorization to cancel Walton Pond Subdivision

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
PUBLIC HEARING

MARCH 30, 1993
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider a request from Thomas R. Saving and
Barbara J. Saving for authorization to cancel Walton Pond
Subdivision in Precinct 1. This is pursuant to County
Regulatory Authority Section 232.008 of the Local Government
Code, Vernons Texas Codes Annotated, Cancellation of
Subdivision. The hearing was held in the Commissioners'
Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas,
beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 1993, with the
following members of the Court present:
R. J. Holmgreen, County Judge, Presiding;
Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Walter Wilcox, Commissioner of Precinct 2, Absent:
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Milton Turner, Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The following citizens and officials were in attendance:

John Schmid
Charlie Ottaway
Pat Dallas
Administrative Assistant

The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the cancellation of Walton Pond Subdivision in
Precinct 1. The County Judge stated in his opening remarks
that proper notice of the hearing had been given according to
law. He outlined the procedures for the hearing and asked
those in attendance for any comments on the subject and asked
that they state their names and organization.
Charlie Ottaway, representative of the City of Bryan
Utility Department, asked that the city be given a specific
easement for utilities. He stated that the developers
documents did not address a public utility easement to the
City of Bryan. Commissioner Sims stated that the only thing
the County could do is to require an easement be given. The
County Judge asked how much easement would be needed. Mr.

Ottaway answered that 10 feet on each side of the line would
be needed. The County Judge recommended that the Savings meet
with the City of Bryan and come to a conclusion on the
easement. He then stated the Court could reconsider the
matter upon hearing from the City of Bryan and the Savings.
There being no further comment, the County Judge closed
the Public Hearing.
