TEXAS By nauli r NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT r The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the posting of speed limits on Schehin Road located in Precincf 1. The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse, Room 115, 300 East 26* Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Monday, April 19. 1999 and the time of the hearing will be 10:30 a.m. All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or against the posting of speed limits on Schehin Road. The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. I RAP-) VO AUI,AS.052, ■ r r • COMMISSIONERS' COURT PUBLIC HEARING APRIL 19, 1999 • The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a Public Hearing to consider setting speed limits on Schehin Road' in Precinct 1. The meeting was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19, 1999, with the following members of the Court present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary for and against the proposed posting of speed limits on • Schehin Road located in Precinct 1. Ray Crow, Engineering Aid, presented the findings of the traffic study. The 85 percentile speed is 36.5 miles per hour. He then recommended setting the speed limit at 35 miles per hour. The following people made comments: 1. Clara Mounce stated that they objected to paving the road because it could increase the speed people are driving up and down the road. 2. Claude Mounce asked if consideration was given to installing speed bumps in the road. He said that 41 people live in the area. He asked the County to put a sign at the curve where a private drive enters the road.
