SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING ON
THURSDAY, APRIL 1,1999 AT 6:00 P.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF
THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26= STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN,
TEXAS.
The Commissioners will consider and take action on an Order of Election to enable the voters
in election precincts 7, part of 26B, 27,44, 46, 51, 63B, 76 and 81 to determine whether they
desire to have a Rural Fire Prevention District created and to authorize the levy of a tax on the
taxpayers of the District.
The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for
sign interpretive services must be made two bwiness days before the meeting. To make

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL MEETING
APRIL 1, 1999
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 6:00
p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 1999, with the following members of
the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
I Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Court met to consider and take action on an Order of
Election to enable the voters in election precincts 7, part of
26B, 27, 44, 46 51, 63B, 76 and 81 to determine whether they
desire to have a Rural Fire Prevention District created and to
authorize the levy of a tax on the taxpayers of the District.

' The County Judge read aloud the Order. On motion by
Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Thornton and

Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to adopt an Order for the

Election.
Commissioner Cauley commented on the use of tax funds
f generated by the Rural Fire Prevention District.

There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.

ORDER CONFIRMING CREATION OF RURAL FIRE PREVENTION DISTRICT NO.3
WHEP.EAS, at an election held on the 1 st day of May, 1999, in that part of Brazos
County, State of Texas, described in Exhibit A, there was submitted to the qualified voters the
question of whether that territory should be formed into a rural fire prevention district under state
law; and
WHEREAS, at the election cg69 votes were cast in favor of formation of the district
and PH votes were cast against formation; and
WHEREAS, the formation of the rural fire prevention district received the affirmative
vote of the majority of the votes cast at the election as provided by law;
NOW, THEREFORE, the Commissioners Court of Brazos County, State of Texas, finds
and orders that the tract described in Exhibit A has been duly and legally formed into a rural fin
prevention district (or a portion thereof) under the name of Brazos County Rural Fire Prevention
District No. 3, under Article III, Section 48-d, of the Texas Constitution, and has the powers
vested by law in the district.
ADOPTED this 012' day of 1999.

That the boundaries of the Brazos Copnty Rural Fire Prevention District No. 3
of Brazos County, Texas and are as follows:
SECTION 1: BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the centerline of
the Navasota River and the centerline of State Highway 21 East;
THENCE southward along the meanders of the centerline of the Navasofa
River ( Brazos County - Madison County and Brazos County - Grimes
County line ) to its intersection with the centerline of Carter's Creek;
THENCE orthwest along the meanders of the centerline of Carters
Creek to its Intersection with the College Station City limits line;
THENCE northwestward along the College Station City limits line to Its
intersection with the Bryan City limits line;
THENCE northwestward along the Bryan City Limits line to its intersection
with the centerline of State Highway 21 to its intersection with the Wixon
Valley City limits line;
THENCE along the southeast boundaries of the Wmon Valley City limits
line to its intersection again with the.oentedine of State Highway 21 East,
thus excluding the incorporated area of Wixon-Valley;
THENCE northeast along the centerline of -State Highway 21 East to the
centerline of the Navasota River thus returning to the POINT OF THE
BEGINNING.
