The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the
posting of speed limits in Enchanted Oaks Subdivision located in Precinct 3.
• The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse, Room
115, 300 East 26`" Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Monday, March 1, 1999 and
the time of the hearing will be 10:30 a.m.

l All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or against
the posting of speed limits in Enchanted Oaks Subdivision.
The building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign
interpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. To make arrangements,

PUBLIC HEARING
MARCH 1, 1999

The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider the posting of speed limits in
Enchanted Oaks Subdivision in Precinct 3. The meeting was
held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in
Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:30 a.m. on
Tuesday, March 1, 1999, with the following members of the
Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.

The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed posting of speed limits in
Enchanted Oaks Subdivision.
Ray Crow, Engineering Aide, explained that when the speed
was being measured, they divided the subdivision into front
and back. The 80 percentile calculations showed that the
average speed driven on road in the front section of the
subdivision was 36.81 miles per hour while the average speed
driven on roads in the back section was 41.4 miles per hour.
He recommended setting the speed limit throughout the
subdivision at 35 miles per hour.
There being no further comments, the County Judge
declared the Public Hearing closed.
