The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the
posting of speed limits on Bird Pond Road located in Precincts 1 and 3.
The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse, Suite
115, 300 East 2& Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Tuesday, August Is, 1999
and the time of the hearing will be 10:00 am.
All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and preset their cause, if any, for or against
the posting of speed limits on Bird Pond Road.
The building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign
intcrpretive services must be made two business days before the meeting. To make arrangements.

PUBLIC HEARING
AUGUST 18, 1996
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing to consider the posting of speed limits on Bird
Pond Road located in Precincts 1 and 3. The meeting was held
in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan,
Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday,
August 18, 1998, with the following members of the Court
present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4, Absent;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed posting of speed limits on Bird
Pond Road.
The County Judge noted that there were no citizens
present to make comments.
Ray Crow, representative of the Road and Bridge
Department presented the following statistics:
1. Bird Pond Road from Rock Prairie Road to
Frost Lane the 85% is 67.52 mph.
2. Bird Pond Road from Carter Creek bridge
to Tonkaway Lake the 85% is 51.07 mph.
3. Bird Pond Road from Lake Placid to Carter
' Creek Bridge the 85% is 56.19 mph.
The recommendation of the Road and Bridge Department was to
average the 85% and set the speed limit along the entire .
j length of the road at 55 mph. j
There being no commentary, the County Judge then declared }
{ the Public Hearing closed. ,
