The Commissioners Court of Brazos County, Texas will hold a Public Hearing to consider the
posting of speed limits in Harvey Hillside Subdivision located in Precinct 3.
The place of the hearing will be the Commissioners Courtroom, Brazos County Courthouse,
Room 115, 300 East 26th Street, Bryan, Texas. The date of the hearing will be Tuesday,
February 17, 1998 and the time of the hearing will be 10:00 a.m.
All interested persons are invited to attend said hearing and present their cause, if any, for or
against the posting of speed limits in Harvey Hillside Subdivision.
The building is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for
sign interpretive services must be made 48 hours before the meeting. To make arrangements,

PUBLIC HEARING
FEBRUARY 17, 1998
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas held a
Public Hearing in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00
a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 1998, with the following members
of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The purpose of the Public Hearing was to hear commentary
for and against the proposed posting of speed limits in the
Harvey Hillside Subdivision located in Precinct No. 3. Ray
Crow, representative of the Road and Bridge Department
explained that traffic counters had been placed on the three
main roads in the subdivision. Those were Pamela Lane, Linda
Lane and Vista Lane. He stated that the 85 percentile on
Pamela Lane was 40.2 miles per hour; the 85 percentile on
Linda Lane was 50.2 miles per hour; and the 85 percentile on
Vista Lane was 40.03 miles per hour. He went on to recommend
setting the speed limit on Linda Lane at 45 miles per hour; on
Pamela and Vista Lanes, he recommended setting the limit at 35
miles per hour.
There being no one present to offer commentary for or
against the recommendation the County Judge declared the
Public Hearing closed.
