BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT
THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A SPECIAL SESSION ON
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 28, 1998 AT 8:30 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS
COURTROOM (OR ADJACENT FOYER AREA) OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY
COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, BRYAN, TEXAS.
THE COMMISSIONERS WILL BE MEETING WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM
UNION PACIFIC FOR A BRIEFING ON UNION PACIFIC ACTMTIES IN BRAZOS
COUNTY AND FOR A PRESENTATION.
The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request
for sign interpretive services must be made 48 hours before the meeting. To make arrangements,

SPECIAL MEETING
JANUARY 28, 1998
A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos
County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the
Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00
a.m. on Tuesday, January 28, 1998, with the following members
of the Court present:

Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1, Absent;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3, Absent;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in
attendance.
The Court met with representatives from Union Pacific for
a briefing on Union Pacific activities in Brazos County. Mr.
Tommy Young, representative of Union Pacific presented a tax
check to Buddy Winn, Tax Collector /Appraiser, in the amount of
$1,020,532.84 which is Union Pacific's 1997 tax bill. Twenty
five (25 %) percent will go to Brazos County.
There being no further business to come before the Court,
the meeting was adjourned.
