TSXAt3 SY DEPUTY AGENDA BRAZOS COUNTY COMMISSIONERS COURT WORKSHOP SESSION THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET IN A WORKSHOP SESSION ON THURSDAY, JANUARY 8, 1998 AT 8:30 A.M. IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING IS FOR A DISCUSSION OF OFFICE SPACE, STAFFING AND OTHER MATTERS RELATED TO THE REALIGNMENT OF JUSTICE OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLE PRECINCTS. The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. Handicap parking spaces are available. Any request for sign interpretive services must be made 48 hours before the meeting. VOL I .PAGiPz,- 1 4 h • Il u *I COMMISSIONERS' COURT WORKSHOP SESSION JANUARY 8, 1998 The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 8, 1998, with the following members of the Court present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The Commissioners Court met in Workshop Session to discuss office space, staffing and other matters related to the realignment of Justice of the Peace and Constable Precincts. Included were matters such as budget adjustments for Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6 and Constable, Precinct No. 6; closing the offices of Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 1 and No. 7 Place 2 and Constable, Precinct No. 1 and relocating the office of Constable Precinct No. 6. Commissioner Thornton feels that thirty (30) to sixty (60) days would be sufficient time to dispose of the filed cases or to transfer them to another court. After much discussion Commissioners Jones and Thornton asked the affected office holders to present the Court with a time frame for scaling down and closing the offices. The foregoing minutes of the Commissioners Court Workshop held January 8, 1998, have been examined and approved in open Court this the day of 1998, in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas.
