IN THE COMMISSIONERS COURTROOM OF THE BRAZOS COUNTY COURTHOUSE, 300 EAST 26TH STREET, SUITE 115, BRYAN, TEXAS. 1. Invocation - Judge Jones. 2. Create and approve a budget for the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6, and the office of Constable, Precinct 6. 4. Adopt Budget Amendment 97198 -10. 5. Acceptance of resignation of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 7 -1. 6. Acceptance of resignation of Constable, Precinct 7. 7. Appointment of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 6. 8. Appointment of Constable, Precinct 6. 9. Approval of official bonds of Justice of the Peace and Constable, Precinct 6. 10. Adjourn. The Courthouse is wheelchair accessible. VOL-6 :PA(3k.- • • • COMMISSIONERS' COURT SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 5, 1998 A special meeting of the Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas was held in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 1998, with the following members of the Court present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct No. 1; Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct No. 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct No. 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct No. 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. Attached is a list of the citizens and officials in attendance. The County Judge gave the invocation and led the pledge of allegiance. There was no citizen input and /or concerns. The first matter before the Court was the creation and approval of a budget for the offices of Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6 and the office of Constable, Precinct No. 6. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to create and approve the budget for the offices of Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6 and the office of Constable, Precinct No. 6. The Court next considered Budget Amendment #97/98 -10.1 through 10.2, which would transfer funds budgeted for contingency to the budget of Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6 and Constable, Precinct No. 6. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to approve the budget amendment as submitted, a copy of which is attached hereto. The Court then considered acceptance of the resignation of Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 7 Place 1. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to accept the resignation of George Boyett as Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 7, Place 1. VOL .�. AGE, Commissioners Court meeting January 5, 1998 The Court then considered acceptance of the resignation of Constable, Precinct No. 7. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to accept the resignation of Phil Sikes as Constable, Precinct No. 7. The Court then considered the appointment of George Boyett as Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6. On motion by ' Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to appoint George Boyett as Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6. The Court then considered the appointment of Phil Sikes as Constable, Precinct No. 6. On motion by Commissioner Sims, seconded by Commissioner Cauley, the Court voted unanimously to appoint Phil Sikes as Constable, Precinct No. 6. The Court next considered approval of the official bonds of Justice of the Peace and Constable, Precinct No. 6. On motion by Commissioner Cauley, seconded by Commissioner Sims, the Court voted unanimously to approve the official bonds of George Boyett as Justice of the Peace, Precinct No. 6 and Phil Sikes as Constable, Precinct No. 6. There being no further business to come before the Court, j the meeting was adjourned and invited any and all to participate in the swearing in ceremony. The following proceedings were held: THAT WHEREAS, on January 5, 1998 the Court heard and approved a budget amendment for the 1997 -1998 budget year for Brazos County, Texas. WHEREAS, an expenditure is necessary due to the necessity to meet unusual and unforeseen conditions which could not be reasonably included in the original budget adopted September 23, 1997 the following amendment(s) to the original are hereby authorized, as described on the attached page(s).
