THE COMMISSIONERS COURT WILL MEET WITH THE BRYAN CITY COUNCIL
AND THE COLLEGE STATION CITY COUNCIL IN A SPECIAL MEETING ON
THURSDAY, JULY 17, 1997 AT 7:00 P.M. THE MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE
BRAZOS CENTER, 3232 BRIARCREST DRIVE, BRYAN, TEXAS.
1. CALL TO ORDER.
2. PRESENTATION OF INFORMATION FROM LOCAL LEADERS REGARDING
PROBLEMS DUE TO LACK OF ADULT INPATIENT FACILITY FOR INDIVIDUALS
WITH BEHAVIORAL/MENTAL DISORDERS.
3. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS FROM THE PUBLIC.
4. CONSIDERATION OF PLAN OF ACTION TO ADDRESS COMMUNITY NEED
REGARDING THIS PROBLEM.
5. ADJOURN.

COMMISSIONERS' COURT
SPECIAL SESSION
JULY 17, 1997
The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a
special session with the Cities of Bryan and College Station at the
Brazos Center, 3232 Briarcrest Drive in Bryan, Brazos County,
Texas, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 1997, with the
following members of the Court present:
Alvin W. Jones, County Judge;
Tony Jones, Commissioner of Precinct 1;
Wm. S. Thornton, Commissioner of Precinct 2;
Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3;
Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4;
Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk.
The Commissioners Court met with the Bryan City Council and
the College Station City Council in a special meeting to hear
information from local leaders regarding problems due to the lack
of an adult inpatient facility for individuals with
behavioral /mental disorders and to consider a plan of action to
address community need concerning this problem.
