To make arrangements, call (409) 361-4102. f i VOL -PAGE Arm ~ _ y.. _ ..i__ ....-....t++.s.. _ ~e_~ _ ,_s-1'•31'x,_^ o • • • ra v COMMISSIONERS' COURT WORKSHOP SESSION JANUARY 29, 1996 The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a Workshop Session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, January 29, 1996, with the following members of the Court present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant Susan Gandy Admin. Asst. to County Judge John Reynolds Auditor Fred Forsthoff Emergency Management Richard Vance County Engineer Tony Jones Brazos County Resident The Commissioners Court met in workshop session to discuss the following item: 1) Discussion of Road & Bridge project priority list for 1996 and method of financing projects: The County Engineer passed out material which prioritized roads and bridges in each Commissioner precinct. The estimated cost of reconstruction is $2,503,849 plus $441,000 for seal coat projects for a total of $2,944,849. Commissioner Cauley stated that he would like to see work done on Red Bud, Lakewood, and Rye School Road and 28th Street. Commissioner Sims recommends the Court look at citizen participation in surface treatment to upgrade subdivision roads. He went on to say he favors using Certificates of obligation funding for major road projects. He recommended $1,000,000 a year for three years. The County Engineer stated that the cost estimate presented does not include bridge replacement. The Court agreed that the Commissioners and the County Engineer should work together to consolidate the four lists into one list. Commissioner Norton will coordinate the workshop. f c ~Z94q.
