TEXAS The Brazos County Commissioners Court will conduct a workshop session to study bids submitted for the County employees group insurance coverage. COMMISSIONERS' COURT WORKSHOP OCTOBER 2, 1995 • ti • i The Commissioners' Court of Brazos County, Texas met in a work shop session in the Commissioners' Courtroom in the Courthouse in Bryan, Brazos County, Texas, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 1995, with the following members of the Court present: Alvin W. Jones, County Judge, Presiding; Gary Norton, Commissioner of Precinct 1; Sandie Walker, Commissioner of Precinct 2; Randy Sims, Commissioner of Precinct 3; Carey Cauley, Jr., Commissioner of Precinct 4; Mary Ann Ward, County Clerk. The following citizens and officials were in attendance: Ruth McLeod Executive Assistant John Reynolds Auditor Cheryl Turney Auditor's Office Loraine Nichols Personnel Ken Bost Health Department Winfred Pittman Constable Pct. 7 Duane Peters Constable Pct. 4 Don Gray Risk Management Group The Court met to study bids submitted for the County Employees' group insurance coverage. Don Gray, Representative of Risk Management Group, reported that the county had received several proposals: 1) Anco or Financial Benefit Services presented Commonwealth with Healthcare Benefits as TPA 2) Richard Smith & Associates presented Clarendon National with Ted L. Parker as TPA 3) Bankers Insurance of Texas presented Pan American Insurance with Benefits Assistance as TPA 4) First Health presented U.S. Benefits and ING with First Health as TPA 5) Phil Adams/Plumhoff presented a) Northwestern National with Northwestern National as TPA b) Life of Georgia with Employee Benefit Services as TPA c) State Mutual with Employe Benefit Services as TPA 6) T. Ross Brown presented Trans General with Benefit Planners as TPA. Mr. Gray reviewed his analysis of the proposals and suggested that the Court had two matters to consider, if the VOL. 6 PAQE; - i I f r r expected claims be over $1.7 million or under $1.7 million. He suggested the odds are that claims will be less than $1.7 million looking at past experience.
